Rimini

Italians themselves head to Rimini for their holidays, which must be the best endorsement there is. Located by the Adriatic Sea, it is a sophisticated and stylish city known for its lively take on life. Fabulous restaurants and trendy bars serve good food and wine, while kilometres of beaches attract families from around the country. Rimini truly is a city for everyone.

The City

Rimini belongs to the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy and is the capital city of the Province of Rimini. It is located between the rivers Marecchia and Ausa and is a city of contrasts. In the center, for instance, ancient narrow streets and cosmopolitan squares, such as Piazza Cavour, Piazza Tre Martiri and Corso d’Augusto stand in contrast to the tourist zones and beach areas where lively bars and restaurants attract families and couples alike. Rimini is divided into districts, each with its own unique character: Bellariva, Marebello, Marina Centro, Miramare, Rivabella, Rivazzurra, San Giuliano Mare, Torre Pedrera and Viserba. The ‘must+see’ attractions include the beautiful Tiberius Bridge, which dates from the 1st Century AD, the Pigna Fountain and the Great Arch of Augustus.

Do & See

Rimini is not just a beach resort city. It is steeped in history and boasts many impressive ancient buildings and monuments. Add to that the many exciting markets, museums, amusement parks, nature and wildlife attractions, and you have a travel destination that will keep you busy for days.

Dining

Life in Rimini revolves around fine dining, and some of the best restaurants can be found around the city centre, along with beach-side areas such as San Guiliano. Fish is always a favourite on the menu, along with pasta and international dishes. Piadina, a type of thin bread, will be served with most dishes.

Cafés

If you are a fan of ice cream and delicious desserts, you truly have come to the right place. In Rimini you will really have a lot to choose from. Walk around in the city, find a café and just enjoy your stay in Rimini.

Bars & Nightlife

Rimini is a city where the night is always young. The locals follow a precise nighttime routine: as soon as the sun sets they start out at Rimini's seaside bars and then head to the clubs and discos, where they spend the period between midnight and the wee hours of the morning. Among the numerous festivals that Rimini offers, the most special one is "La Notte Rosa", which is the greatest festival of the summer, the so called summer New Year in the riviera. The entire coast is tinged with pink for more than 170 kilometres of the Adriatic coast and Marche, resulting in an explosion of lights, sounds, colours, concerts, theatre performances, readings and much more.

Shopping

Rimini is a heaven for those who love shopping. You can find big shopping centres with brands from all over the world, but also small boutiques with Italian-style products. There are also famous streets such as Corso d’Augusto, Tre Martiri square, via Garibaldi and via Gambalunga where you will find luxury brands. There are a few outlet centres in Rimini that offer brand-name goods at discounted prices.
